More late fee options

Late Fees as a percentage are not the only way to do late fees -
- please allow late fee to be a set amount, ex: $50 instead of X%
- optional or able to be manually added. I can't be the only one who wants more direct control over adding a late fee to my clients invoices as opposed to just sticking them with it bc of an automated system
- To only apply after a certain number of days late. All my regular bills have a grace period, why shouldn't we offer that too?

As so many have said, we definitely need the option of adding a flat fee to every invoice after x days. Percentages would have to be manually calculated and changed for each invoice for that to be effective for us, which makes zero sense.

Moxie's late fees setup makes no sense to me- who charges by the day??
The late fee options should be many and flexible.
I'm charging $xx or xx%, whichever is greater, applied the day after payment is due, plus the same fee for every xx days after that date that the payment is late.
There should also be an option to add the fee to the NEXT invoice or send it as a separate invoice. If clients aren't paying online, they may not see the invoice that's been updated with late fees at all. Then you're left to deal with a partially paid invoice.
I really think this is a very basic feature request.

I just had a live chat with Robert who linked me here.
I am looking to move clients over from WHMCS. Their invoicing is different in that you can set a percentage amount to be added after a set number of days past due.
So an invoice is for £100
I have in the settings for a 10% late fee to be added when the invoice remains unpaid 7 days past the due date.
This invoice becomes £110 after it remains unpaid 7 days over the due date.
This daily calculation of late fees just isn't practical and is confusing to clients.
Here's the scenario....
I have a client with an outstanding invoice for £7.50.
I have late fees set as 10%.
Their invoice is 3 days overdue.
Late fees have been applied adding £0.05 to the invoice! Apparently, it's 10% divided by 30 days meaning 0.33% added daily to the invoice.
Is my client going to be incentivised to pay the invoice because of the £0.05 fee? I doubt it.
Is the client going to think I'm crazy adding a £0.05 late fee? I reckon so.
It would make much more sense to add the whole 10% (£0.75) as soon as the invoice becomes overdue.

Ability to set static late fee instead of %
Ashland Web Solutions LLC
The late fee percentage confuses quite a few of our clients, we would like the option to set X amount for the late fee instead of a percentage.

this is a request I have previously made:

Anne Porter I was looking for tickets like that and couldn't find any, thank you!

Or both. In many cases, a late fee is a combination of a fixed amount plus an interest rate.

Steven Segaert Absolutely.

I agree with this. An x percentage for a $2500 project and x percentage for a $65/m reoccuring service is a big difference. I understand being able to have two seperate late fees but we would like to keep it pretty uniform. A late fee of $25 after x number of days is ideal in both scenerios.

I do a $35 late fee if recurring invoice (or an invoice for services rendered - which I almost never do) payment is 10 days late, plus 2% per month.
